How ROKO APP uses YouTube API Services
ROKO APP is a cloud-based SaaS platform that enables businesses to offer collaborative music playback through QR codes.
ROKO APP uses YouTube to allow users to discover and play publicly available music videos in shared venues, such as bars, restaurants, gyms, and events.
ROKO APP uses:
- YouTube Data API v3
- YouTube Embedded Player
These are the official services provided by Google for searching and playing YouTube content. ROKO APP does not use unofficial or third-party alternatives to access YouTube media.
When a user searches for a song, the following happens:
- A user enters a search term in the ROKO APP interface.
- ROKO APP sends the search request to the official YouTube Data API.
- YouTube returns publicly available video metadata matching the query.
- ROKO APP displays the search results to the user.
- The user selects a song.
- The song is added to the shared playback queue.
Only public metadata is used. ROKO APP cannot access private videos, restricted content, or personal YouTube account data.
Playback is performed exclusively through the official YouTube Embedded Player.
- Audio and video are streamed directly from YouTube.
- ROKO APP never hosts media files.
- ROKO APP never redistributes YouTube content.
- Users always watch the original content provided by YouTube.
ROKO APP only uses public video information required to display search results and manage the shared queue. This includes:
- Video title
- Channel name
- Thumbnail
- Duration
- Video ID
ROKO APP does not access private YouTube accounts, playlists, watch history, or any personal Google information.
Search results may be temporarily cached to:
- Improve application performance.
- Reduce unnecessary YouTube API requests.
- Deliver faster search results to users.
The cache contains only publicly available metadata.No audio or video files are stored, and no personal user information is stored in the cache.
ROKO APP is designed to respect YouTube policies and operate within the YouTube API Services Terms of Service.
The platform:
- Uses official Google APIs.
- Uses the official YouTube Embedded Player.
- Does not download videos.
- Does not extract audio.
- Does not remove advertisements.
- Does not bypass YouTube restrictions.
- Does not provide offline playback.
